I don't have burning that radiates through the urethra to the tip.
At one point I did post that after oral sex my tip was irritated for a couple of days but disappeared. This happened on two occasions and as a result I avoid it. The burning sensation felt is localized in the testicles during a flare but I feel as though the low level discomfort is in the subrapubic (sp?) region (below my belly) that I think radiates the pain to the testicles but upon palpation I can't really localize the pain.
The PT who I saw months ago didn't do any internal work on me. The new PT I'm seeing now is definitely doing internal and external work but none of the tender and trigger points refer pain to my testicles.
Look, I hate writing about this and the only reason I do, like many here, is to get help!
I'm not saying what I have is a sports hernia but I'm hoping it is as I am unable to get the referred pain from the tirgger point therapy.
Since going to the new PT who is really going to work on me, I do feel better after a session but can't tell if it's all in my head as I'm actively trying to do something about the pain or if the PT work is having an effect.
Like I said, if there was a definitive pain response from the trigger points I would be on the next plane to Sebastopol.
So, if the pain is mainly localized in the abdominal/subrapubic region/inguinal area (I am giving 3 different names to just one area) and the testicles would it not be a possibility if I have only had tip pain and tip pain only on two occasions and only after engaging in oral sex that it may be something other than CPPS?
I really appreciate the feedback WS.
Thanks

Age:37 | Onset Age: 35 | Symptoms: pain in testicles that comes and goes that also switches sides-trying to find a pattern as to "why" this happens/Rectal Burn at the 6 O'clock position at my anus which tends to flare around the periphery of my anus typically after defication but no perineum pain-no "golf ball" pain. Pain in testicles worsens as I sit but not always...Pain is not always present but depresses me. Pain used to be at a very high level but has subsided in time to a low level but has not gone away. Pain used to flare after sex but not as much as before although it still like playing russian roulette./

Are you a sportsman or ex-sportsman with a history of violent and vigorous movements of your abdomen? Do you have pain when twisting or coughing? Have you had a doctor inspect you, as described above, and say that you may have a hernia? If "no" to all these questions, then you do not have a sports hernia.
It's been stated many times here that the reproduction of pain by pressing trigger points is highly operator dependent, IOW you cannot decide that you do not have trigger points that create your pain on the basis of the performance of one physical therapist, especially one that is minimally trained or untrained by the Stanford team, and if your therapist is female, DW has made comments on the short fingers of females and the inability many of them have to hit the right areas.
Suprapubic and testicular pain, taken together, are symptoms of CPPS. You also have an anxious disposition, as you have demonstrated here over the months, that often goes hand-in-hand with the condition.
In your shoes, a visit to Stanford would be the best thing you could do next, in my opinion.

I used to work out 3-4 days a week for 3-4 hours at a time comprising of bike riding, swimming and weights.
I was a recreational athlete.
I picked up my wife 2 yrs ago, felt a sharp pain in my lower left abdomen and 5 days later I'm here...

In that case, get a careful assessment of the area by an expert.

Age:33 | Onset Age:19 | Symptoms:burning urethra, deep sore stinging around the perineum, dribbling | Helped By:when flare starts deep relaxing over a toilet to let out dribbling urine, hot bath, rubbing a heat cream on the perineum, Tens with a pad on the perineum, running, medication (solpadol) for pain. Current treatment: PT. | Worsened By:sitting, stressing over it, ejaculation, sometimes alcohol but I risk it. Been feeling a lot better last 6 months about 85% with a few flares lasting about 5 days. No longer having PT. Stretching every other night and I believe time is also a big factor for me

Tug in my right testicle when bending
So I was late for work this morning... had to get out of bed, iron shirt, find some socks then shoes, take a shower, get dressed and boogie.
I noticed while bending down and/or squatting in trying to find my shoes under the bed that I felt a tug in my right testicle. It was basically an amplification of the dull ache that I constantly feel. I'm assuming theres a muscular reason to all this.
Does this sound familiar to anyone?

Re: Tug in my right testicle when bending
Definitely muscular, you were stretching tight muscles, we are usually not loose right out of bed, and bingo the symptoms.
You definitely need to be doing your stretches, sounds like you need to be working out your hip flexors, doing the squat stretch and attending to your hamstrings.
Take care,
Jason

Had a sigmoidoscopy today
So in my never ending trek to find out whats going on with my body, I saw a new doctor today who performed a sigmoidoscopy. He tells me that my bowel is not the normal pink but red, irritated and discharging mucus. Says something is going on...
I get the results tomorrow but I'd like to know if anyone has had similar symptoms.
Thanks

Re: Had a sigmoidoscopy today
In the bottom cleft of my anus is where I have been experiencing some irritation however after a bowel movement the irritation turns into a burning sensation that climbs up the periphery of my anus. At onset the anal tissue was fiery hot and swollen 24/7. Over the course of time it has subsided but I get a flare it seems every so often, especially when I don't clean the area carefully and thoroughly after a bowel movement. I told the doc that I don't think much has changed from the time I started to clean myself as a child till date so something must be going on. He agreed based on the mucosal discharge and the redness/irritation of my bowel as seen during the sigmoidoscopy. I've seen a proctologist in the past who I guess was looking for hemmoriods and fistulas but never found either. Then again I never had a sigmoidoscopy until today and much to my surprise something was discovered. I'd like to add that my testicle pain started in nov 05' followed by the anal irritation in may of 06' while I was in India for my wedding...
The doc thinks there's a connection but would like any input from the sages on this board that deal with pelvic, GI, and GU problems who may have some insight.

I had the same finding but overcame it with an exclusion diet and wheat (gluten) avoidance.

I assume the bicycle and weights are gone for now? Yoga seems to flare or be unhelpful for many also despite any temporary lessening of symptoms. Swimming may be a 50/50 proposition with the breaststroke being avoided by some.Rufus wrote:In the bottom cleft of my anus is where I have been experiencing some irritation however after a bowel movement the irritation turns into a burning sensation that climbs up the periphery of my anus. Stressing, what-if thinking, weights.

Re: MY PT UPDATE (Rufus Case)
I tried to go back to the gym but the pain in anus and testicles/suprapubic region confines me to work and bed. I don't know why this post has been renamed and patched with different posts but so be it.
I had many many PT sessions and stretched at home plenty but I still have testicle pain.
If I get news the same as WS I'm sure my doc will put me on the same diet.
Hope it gets rid of the testicle pain. Anal irritation I can live with but nut pain is awful...

Re: MY PT UPDATE (Rufus Case)
I'm trying to get the habitual posters who tend to post new threads with every new symptom or change of symptom to keep it all in one thread for reasons of logic and readability.I don't know why this post has been renamed and patched with different posts but so be it.
This book tells you how to do an exclusion diet, saves the cost of a doctor. But get some allergy tests done, skin prick and blood tests. The most common type of blood test used is the enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA, EIA). It measures the blood level of a type of antibody (called immunoglobulin E, or IgE) that the body may make in response to certain allergens. IgE levels are often higher in people who have allergies or asthma. Other lab testing methods, such as radioallergosorbent testing (RAST) or an immunoassay capture test (ImmunoCAP, UniCAP, or Pharmacia CAP), may be used to provide more information.
Note that IgG, not IgE, may be involved in intolerances, so these are not picked up by conventional allergy tests. So why do I recommend conventional tests? Well, I had a skin reaction to wheat, so even conventional tests can provide useful data. BTW, wheat is a GRASS. If you react to grasses, that too may be indicative that you should avoid grass-based foods (white polished rice, however, is low allergen and ok for most people).
