I agree. Interestingly, my initial pain symptoms (before the urinary component kicked-in) felt as if they were caused by bloating, which was pushing on my bladder.I have noticed a distinct pickup in posting here after all the booze and sugary foods. Not a coincidence, I'm sure.

Update: 3.5 weeks later and I am now getting back to normal. The change (and it was palpable) is down to moving from 15mg to 30mg of Mirtazipine.GP2 wrote:P.S - Keep us updated Richard. Maybe it (the flare) won't last as long as you fear!
This appears to have reduced the pain whilst also making my bladder less sensitive.

I found your comments especially thoughtful. I've not seen any real study attempting to quantify S-F periods as they relate to how involved the individuals are in protecting their own recovery through stretching and other forms of exercise and stress prevention. This would be a useful study.
For what it is worth I've been ill for 2.5 years and did have a period relatively symptom free for 15 months. To slip back was disheartening to say the least. However, I just started all over and have since improved to what I'd call 70%. I use a program of one hour of stretching and a half hour on a Nordic Track most every day. It helps a great deal. Just last month I found a trainer versed in the Standford P and will be starting with her this month. I'm optimistic. I take no pain killers, though I do take Flomax for urinary control and it is effective.
