Can you explain how the methadone clinic works? Has methadone helped your chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome pain?

To be honest, it seems to make it worse. I'm in the process of slowly detoxing for the second time, which is a painful ordeal in it's own right. Physically. It tightens everything up when it needs to be loose, and seems to impede blood flow to some degree. I would NOT recommend getting on it unless you have a dire problem with hard opiates in addition to your CPPS. The best thing I've found for dealing with the terrible affliction tha is chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome is marijuana. It is tremendously helpful physically and mentally for me. Some will say this won't help you, will make the pain worse etc. but these are the people who seem to have a deeper kind of aversion to pot, who don't use it themselves, and are comfortable dishing on it from a distance no matter how much evidence...anecdotal or otherwise that contradicts their position. That said this works best in conjunction with other direct therapies such as hot sitz baths, steam rooms, hot tubs, internal therapy yoga etc.

Anyways, as for opiates and methadone I would only recommend them as a last resort. So far I have found the best success with yoga, supplements, regular exercise, healthy sleep pattern, warm baths and lots of cannabis. YMMV.
