Ty. One last question pls, did you remember if that constant urethral urge you had till surgery was stronger if you walked? In my case is best if I stay lying down or sitting; if I walk I feel a stronger urge :( . And also did hot baths helped you back then? (They help me a lot). Ty a lot for your time
Age: 39 | Onset Age: 36 | Symptoms: constant urethral pressure like I always have to urinate, urethra pain, burning inside urethra or stinging in my penis tip, I lost my bladder sensations | Helped By: internal rectal therapy, gabapentin (this worked wonders for 10 months, sadly now it's useless no matter the dosage), hot baths, and even though I never had infections Levofloxacin helped me temporarily. Also Tibial TENS worked good for some time | Worsened By: ejaculation, foods (this only started to clearly affect me this year only, I think stress / anxiety even if sometimes I feel ok in period of stress and anxiety| Other comments: I have a bladder neck obstruction and a tense pelvic floor. Some doctors told me my prostate needs injections but I declined, others blame pudendal nerve and wanted to do a surgery (I declined this also). A top urologist from Spain said in his opinion is a painful bladder...

I will also go for the surgery next months, Botox in bladder neck did not help to much sadly ☹️

I know you had big problems with frequent urination during the day, but how often did you wake up at night before surgery? Sometimes I have to get up every hour, and sometimes I can sleep 3 to 4 hours or even more. Ty in advance.

Honestly can't remember. Think it was maybe two or three, sometimes more. Was definitely down to none or once after surgery, though.

Sleeper sry to ask you so many questions (I assure you I read all your story) but your case was very similar to mine. I know you said after operation a bowel movement or peeing increased your urgency, but how was before operation? For me always a bowel movement make me feel worse and the more I pee the stronger the urge is. You has same problems before your surgery? Ty

Hello.
I traveled from Romania to Madrid and I did a video urodynamics; the bladder neck is not opening. Next months I will have surgery. Now I have a clear diagnostic and I pray this surgery will take away this non stop urethral urge... already 1.5 years of suffering. Since you had same symptoms and same diagnostic I have some hope my problems will improve after BNI, Sleeper.

Sleeper, when you had video urodynamics did you have detrusor overactivity ?

Sleeper, a question please, you said you never felt that your bladder is completely empty even if you didn't have retention, when you say this, you actually mean some little sensation remained in urethra no (not bladder?)? I mean, you urinated but you felt in urethra the sensation is not 100 % gone but is very very small immediately after urination, but not fully, fully empty (urethral feeling?) and after 30 sec, 1 min it becomes annoying again? I understand right? If so, it's like me exactly....

Please reply when you can. I wish you all the best !

Yes, it was always located in the urethra or penis tip, not the bladder itself.

I still did not have the surgery (bladder neck incision BNI) and in last 3 months I had moments when my constant urge to pee was zero sometimes after peeing for 20, 30 minutes.... I was thinking I am getting better but now I have the worst flare of my life.... Last night the urethral pressure and sensation to pee waked me up maybe 30, 40 times and I peed every hour.... This is the worst flare I ever have in 2 years of suffering and this is happening when I was thinking I am on the right path.... Sleeper or others you ever had so big flares? If so how you managed them? I am really desperate...

I talked with a surgeon and will do BNI soon. I think is a step I must do.... Sleeper when you had PBNO did masturbation gave you a flare? I have no pain when I do it, only pleasure and after it my urinary symptoms get a bit weaker for maybe 1 hour but same day / night or maximum next day I enter in a flare..... wonder if you had same with PBNO.

Sleeper Service wrote: Tue Jul 10, 2007 2:52 pm Whilst it's disappointing, my Uro did make it clear the operation was to improve obstructive symptoms, not to cure prostatitis, which it has done. Now it's a case of doing what I can to get normality back into my life. There is also the possibility it's just going to take time to settle down - it can take up to a year to do so and I have read the experiences of patients treated with TUIP and TURP for obstruction who have had chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome like symptoms for many months before finally settling down
You mean they had chronic prostatitis signs before surgery and those improved slowly after surgery like your case or from surgery they developed chronic prostatitis symptoms that resolved in time ? I ask cause I also do the surgery way more for the constant urethral pressure.
