Why is Everyone getting Staphylococcus after a microgendx test. Is it normal due to sensitivity?

Hey guys.

I came across microgendx and tested for that in May. Results came back with staphylococcus haemolyticus 91% and staphylococcus epidermidis 6%. My doctor treated staphylococcus haemolyticus with Bactrim and disregard the 6% one, assuming this was a contamination.

Recently I did a test last week because I still had symptoms and it shows that staphylococcus epidermidis is 78% the one he disregarded. Alongside with Streptococcus mitis 21% what is going on did the bacteria he disregarded grow or are these contamination/normal skin floral. I am confused and emotionally/mentally exhausted.

I’ve been having symptoms of penis burning and discomfort to my rectum and anus. This might be CPPS

I need a educational look on staphylococcus I’m so confused. Everyone is dealing with staphylococcus which is not going away. Is this contamination because MicrogenDX is very sensitive or a normal healthy bacteria?

Staph lives normally in the urethra. The urethra is simply a continuation of the skin of the penis, and Staphlococcus is a normal part of the skin biome. I would routinely disregard Staph. in tests results, unless the numbers are incredibly high, well over 10⁵.

You would be well advised to avoid Microgen and nexgen tests. They don't ever seem to lead to cures, and just suck money from you, and leave you anxious and confused.

So what is this pain?

I’ve been having burning urethra and rectum discomfort. Things started after I had unprotected sex and I went lunatic assuming unprotected sex was getting caught with a bacteria. I felt a regret and shame. Then symptoms started a day later, and it’s been like this for 8 months unfortunately

How do I seek for help? Pelvic floor therapist? I was planning on cutting dairy, gluten, and becoming vegetarian. Have you tried quercetin supplements my urologist recommended them but I haven’t used them yet. It takes 3 months to see benefit on these supplements.

Op. Same thing happened to me. After a regrettable sexual encounter. I know its hard to believe it can happen this way but chasing bacteria is a dead end and a waste of time. Microgen is a scam of all scams. I was told this but still headed down the rabbit hole myself and got nowhere. Now its been almost a year and my symptoms only improve when my mental health improves along w stretching and trigger point release. It actually takes ALL 3 things together at the same time for my personal improvement to occur. Just something to keep in mind. Webslave is correct microgen is bogus.

2. Is there a need to do a prostate fluid WBC test to check or testing is a dead end

2. Do a test if you've never had a culture before. Then if negative, don't do it again

Like webslave said, Microgen testing isn't really worth it if you want to get better. I remember at my most anxious, I was about to open a PO box in MA to get the test shipped to because they don't serve NY residents, for whatever reason. But I'm glad I didn't. It's only going to leave you anxious and confused not to mention a waste of money. If you go to the prostatitis subreddit, you'll see so many poor redditors having taken the test and are so confused about their results showing staph, entero faecalis, etc etc these are NORMAL commensal bacteria that live in the ug tract. Don't focus on it. Focus on not clenching your pelvis and relaxing... if all tests are negative, you're fine... my story is really similar if you look (it's long). Had unprotected sex, was fine for 2 months until I freaked out about it. Next day, penile discomfort. Find a way to break the hypervigilant shame cycle.

I started taking magnesium supplements yesterday, what is surprising is that my symptoms are way more better. Perhaps 40 percent still there but magnesium kinda took the rectum pain away which is great. Should I keep on taking them

Age 21 male

I have been suffering from CPPS for 10 months now, I have gone to PT and done all sort of dietary restrictions but couldn't get the full effect of recovery. I do see Ami is helping but the only concern is having a very low grade ringing in my ears in a quiet room. I am currently on a week of Ami. To my knowledge (researched online and from speaking to a neurologist) Amitriptyline is not known to cause this, however I am going to see a doctor when I have free time. Perhaps triggering an underlying issue, or a very unusual side effect. Another person that was taking Ami and had tinnitus for about 2 weeks. He said it will disappear, that I shouldn't focus on it. And it'll will go away. Maybe I'm just hypochondriac and there is nothing lol

Has anyone dealt with this, maybe my body is getting use to this.

Oh BTW I was floxed in March SMH!! Spokes me out till this day. Maybe my body is sensitive because of that. Thank god I'm 99% feeling normal

WS is probably away for a while bc of his own personal stuff. I'm not as good but I'll offer a little input. I think your body is just adjusting to the medication. Let the symptoms progress as you take the medication. It seems like, since the meds are helping, that your CPPS is big-time psychological/psychosomatic. Don't worry. I personally have bouts of tinnitus when I am either forming or dispelling anxiety. Just give it some time and don't worry
