Re: My CPPS Stories and Experience’s
Hi Friends I tried psychological ways during the last two years and I had some improvements during last two years. But all the things has changed suddenly two days ago. I was in gym two days ago and after a mild running and light weight lifting, my pain increased remarkably. It was interesting by increasing of pain, libido and ED problems improved a little! It seems that some taught bands/ trigger points and muscle tone activated during the work with Dumbbell and.... It was very interesting for me because it was the first time that I experienced increasing of pain due to muscle tone increasing. In other word I found completely that most of my symptoms originated from high muscle tone in pelvic floor. Now I'm going to evaluate injection in to pelvic floor muscles to reduce the pelvic floor muscles ton. (Botox or Steroids)
Does anyone have experience of Botox or Steroid injection in to the Pelvic floor? Would you please guide me.
Thank you

That's a question many of us have. I've been offered both, but I too would like to hear more opinions from others who may have tried it before I make up my mind about any of it.Chriss wrote: Tue Nov 20, 2018 7:34 amDoes anyone have experience of Botox or Steroid injection in to the Pelvic floor? Age: 52 | Onset Age:49 (but I may have had warning signs 25 yrs earlier)| Symptoms: Pretty much all the usual suspects. Frequency, urgency, inability to always empty, burning and numbing uretheral, penile & perineum pain. Frequent urination at night.| Helped By: Internal PT. Myrbetriq helps but is by no means great. TENS to help sleep, and hand held massages of the lower back, hips and buttocks. Standing and physical labor help. Stretches and hot baths. Occasionally use gel iced pad on the perineum. Worsened By: Sitting (being sedentary), driving, sex, bowel movements, tight clothing and underwear. | Other comments: Currently trying L-Theanine
Re: My CPPS Stories and Experience’s
I had a steriod injection 3 times at my coccyx, from which they argued that it could calm down the pelvic floor, but this did absolutely nothing. Nothing positive, nothing negative. I know that it is not a steriod injection directly in the pelvic floor, but I justed want to leave this here. Maybe they offer you this place as a solution, but in my own experience it does nothing.

Pelvic floor electromyography in men with chronic pelvic pain syndrome: A case‐control study
Conclusions
CPPS patients manifest pelvic floor muscle instability compared to normals. Prebaseline resting hypertonicity and instability along with endurance contraction weakness reliably predicts subject membership in the CPPS vs. normal group. Pelvic floor muscle sEMG may be a valuable screening tool to identify patients with CPPS who may benefit from therapies aimed at correcting pelvic floor muscle dysfunction.

Re: My CPPS Stories and Experience’s
You can get certain pharmacists to compound something like Flexeril into a suppository for you.

Re: My CPPS Stories and Experience’s
This is a 1st hearing this. Has anybody had any success with compounding a muscle relaxer for this?

Re: My CPPS Stories and Experience’s
There's quite a lot of discussion of valium suppositories on the forum. They are usually compounded by a pharmacist on request.

Re: My CPPS Stories and Experience’s
Doesnt valium work by affecting the brain? So taking it rectally wouldnt really make it any more effective?

Re: My CPPS Stories and Experience’s
I'm not arguing for rectal use of valium. I'm simply saying that drugs can be compounded into suppositories on request, and valium is an example that members have discussed on our forum.cam3roni wrote: Mon Apr 01, 2019 1:23 pmDoesnt valium work by affecting the brain? Thank you Mark, webslave wrote: Sun Mar 31, 2019 6:27 pm You can get certain pharmacists to compound something like Flexeril into a suppository for you.
Flexeril works as central nervous system affecting for muscles relaxing. It seems use of this orally can be beneficial.
I'm trying to find some thing works as BTX ...to relax the external sphincter, bulbocavernous ischiocavernous, calm down of prostate nerves, .... before going to BTX injection in to the pelvic floor muscles.
BTX Injection seems risky and result is very depandant to technic and place of injection based on symptoms.

Re: My CPPS Stories and Experience’s
I have also read that Botox is quite risky avenue (the injected muscle will release but the other might spasm as a result of compensation), but in torpid cases like ours it is a possibility. But I think that more and more urologists/interventional radiologists are ready to do it....

Re: My CPPS Stories and Experience’s
I'm conservative about Botox and I couldn’t made decision to follow it. It seems problem is instability of muscles rather than the spasm and by deactivating of some sort of muscles by Botox, instability moves to other case.European wrote: Thu Apr 04, 2019 8:52 am I have also read that Botox is quite risky avenue (the injected muscle will release but the other might spasm as a result of compensation), but in torpid cases like ours it is a possibility.
