Charlie222, you are not doing enough. Healthy diet and exercise will not make you better. Read A HEADACHE IN THE PELVIS for starters.
Dockuda, Dr Wise does not read this forum. Weak erections are a part of chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome for many men, but as you get better they will return to normal.

How to shrink the prostate
After suffering for 3 years with an enlarged/inflamed prostate, learning all about all the different conditions related to prostatitis, CPPS, etc and learning all about the possible treatments, I have concluded that my case is simply one of overuse/abuse of my prostate (through excessive ejaculations and masturbation).
What I have been unable to do is actually return my prostate to its normal size. I have tried almost everything, but nothing seems to work. I am wondering if my prostate will EVER go back to its size (or at least shrink a little).
Is it possible to have a prostate swell and be all inflamed for years, and then return to its size? It feels like I will have to live with this forever, but I really really don't want to.
I have stopped the excessive use of it and try to have regular balanced ejaculations (once a week). I have done pelvic floor therapy, read the book, tried all kinds of different diets and supplements. The only thing I have not done is the Dr Wilson tests and treatments.
I really wonder if my hormone levels are out of whack and are what is causing the excess of cells in my prostate.
A side effect of having an inflamed prostate is that I have premature ejaculation (PE). I also have to strain to pee and that has caused me a hiatas hernia as well as Duodenitis that I now have to deal with additionally.
My life is just becoming increasingly difficult to deal with these diseases and I have also noticed (as my friends have told me) that I am depressed and its due to these diseases. I'm not even 30 years old.

Age:27 | Onset Age:26 | Symptoms: About 12 months ago (April 2011) I began getting weird feeling in my stomach after ejaculation. It would go away after a few days. But like an idiot I continued my mad habit of overmasturbation and excess ejaculations, to the point where I ejaculated one night and afterwards felt like my stomach/abdomen was going to explode. It took almost 6 months to finally see a uro who determined that my prostate was the size of a 60 year old males. During the 6 months I tried to control my sex addiction but still ejaculated altho a lot less frequently. Cultures done, semen analysis done, rectal, abdominal, pelvic ultrasounds done. Found no bacteria growth but found "infection" in my prostate. Which I dont quite understand. Diagnosis was chronic prostatitis. Took Cipro, Ofloxacin for 6 weeks. Not much changed. Symptoms: Waking up 1-2 times a night to urinate, odd uncomfortable feeling in my pelvic area all the time, especially when I sleep. | Helped By: Abstinence, relaxation, herbal supplements | Worsened By: ejaculations, stress | Other comments:

Re: My Case (please help! )
After re-reading your thread, I suggest another visit to a uro for investigation of the prostate. A huge prostate is very unusual in a young man. Men with chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome usually have small, firm, tender prostates. Find out the exact volume of the prostate, if it is boggy or firm, and have a urodynamics test to see if there is any obstruction.

Re: My Case (please help! )
45g is huge for someone your age. It may be inflamed - as your urine results suggest, or just enlarged.
Your urine suggests you may have picked up a UTI, which may have occurred due to urinary retention due to the enlarged prostate.
Have you had a cystoscopy or urodynamic study?

Age 56: Onset 2006 and bouts on and off since then. See posts for details.

I know,, my prostate is huge... so depressing.
They did culture and sensitivity of me urine but found no growth. I'm not sure if that's what the urodynamics testing is?
I'm deathly afraid of a cystoscopy and I will never do it nor will I do surgery unless I absolutely need it.

Re: My Case (please help! )
Prostate size increases with age, from a few grams at birth, 20-30 ml at ages 20 to 55 years, and over 55 years it gets larger (>40 ml volume is considered large).
Your prostate is abnormal. Get a TRUS, cystoscopy (no need to be afraid) and urodynamic tests. You can Google these terms to find out what they mean.

Re: My Case (please help! )
UPDATE: I did a whole round of tests again and this time they found bacteria in the prostatic fluid culture. They found group B streptoccocus and coagulase negative staphyloccoccus. I was prescribed Ceftin for 20 days but it hasn't done anything.
Does anyone know what are the best antibiotics for this???? Or what else I can do??
Thanks

Probably just contaminants. Hunting bacteria in chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome is a waste of time.charlie222 wrote:They found group B streptoccocus and coagulase negative staphyloccoccus
