Constipation is not necessarily the issue. Some people get hemorrhoids from diarrhoea.

The proclivity to hemorrhoids is genetic.

Squatting to defecate tends to relieve the proclivity.

Update:

Still at 95%, maybe even more now that my hemorrhoids are practically gone.. No tense feeling, no shocks, nothing what so ever. Occasionally I get a flare up after a BM but nothing close to what it used to be this time last year.

As for my weight and activity level: I am about 150lbs now compared to close to 190lbs, yes I did lose 40lbs and I feel tremendously better.

Any questions? I'll be glad to answer..
Age:29 | Onset Age: 27 | Symptoms: Rectal burning after bowel movement, rectal tightness, stinging and shocking near thighs sometimes. | Helped By: Hot bath, Muscle relaxers such as Flexeril, not sitting an entire day | Worsened By: Stress, sitting a lot, anxiety, problems with relationship (emotional issues)| Other comments: I recommend A Headache in the Pelvis, and reading my story fully.

Hello everyone.. I'm happy to report that I am 100% healed. I do not have any pain. I lost 50lbs, and I am in the BEST shape of my life. I couldn't be happier with all thats around me and I contribute that to many different things.

Only piece of advice I can really give all of you, do not limit yourself to urologists.. because they don't all know everything. I would also look into someone who can diagnose rectal pain with a different opinion, and with different instruments.

I feel like i've had internal hemorrhoids for a while and my Uro did not acknowledge or even test for this...

Anyway - hope everyone is feeling good.

Sufferinginpain, glad to hear your situation been resolved! So it appears not to be CPPS-related in your case.
Age: 30 | Onset Age: 19| Symptoms: Urinary frequency, Urinary urgency, constant 24/7 sensation in the penis (in the tip mainly - burning/pressure/discomfort/"wetness"), Nocturia, discomfort and pressure in the pelvic region radiating to the abdomen and becoming severe as time passes since last urination (resolved in 2014 by myofascial release), Stream velocity is somewhat slow and prolonged with an average velocity of ~13cc/min (and max 18cc/min) found in flowmetry test when bladder is filled with 500cc at age 25 (I always feel like I need to press my abdomen to urinate, improved later on when using alpha blockers)| Helped By: especially MYOFASCIAL RELEASE (especially in the areas of hips and abdomen) - generally resolved my abdominal aches, but penile symptoms remained the same| Worsened By: Coffee and possibly some other food as well| Other comments: Quercetin and acupuncture helped me no more than a placebo effect. Age 25-26: Diagnosed with indirect inguinal hernia and medium hydrocele at the same side. After operation many of the acute symptoms disappeared, but the chronic urinary and pelvic symptoms remained much the same.

Wolfcub, no, that's not the correct conclusion. Sufferinginpain was a pretty average case, symptoms coming on under extreme stress, and receding as he got over the stress and took positive steps (weight loss, hemorrhoid control etc). The hemorrhoids and tense pelvis from the stress were probably key issues in his case.

Hey all... I wanted to update you on my condition. It's been a pretty long time since I've logged on, but I always think about each and everyone of you here because I know what you are all going through, and I want to be as much help as possible:

In my case, if you have read my story, I am still pretty much doing the same. I am on average I'd say about 80%-85% better. On some times, it's a complete 100% and it feels AMAZING. I do not have the same crazy stiffness in the anal region, and I do not have shooting pains or all the other horrible symptoms I complained about before. However, I do have the bouts of flare ups that come and go... I am still trying to figure out what exactly triggers them because I don't think its 100% stress - since at times they come when I'm completely stress free.

I went to see a doctor the other day, and he spotted 2 internal hemorrhoids, however, he did say that they were nothing out of the ordinary, and that if he wants he can find the same thing on any person which isn't complaining about pain, so in short the hemorrhoids are not the immediate solution to my flare ups. He injected me with a fluid that would calm the hems but I didn't really see any immediate relief. I need to go back and get several more shots and see where it goes from there.

I DO however have to tell you guys that I have been completely drug free since I stopped my Elavil almost 8-10 months ago. I do not take anything for pain as it is not as harsh anymore. I found that my pain is not so much a rectal "tightness" so to speak, it is more a burning sensation which is around the anal region. My doctor gave me a cream which I use when I get these flare ups and it works like a complete charm. It's got a soothing menthol feeling to it, which really works to cover up the burning sensation, and it seems like the next day it is completely gone. I am pain free.

I have started to log my foods and routines to see what is causing the flare up, for not I have started to drink decaf coffee, and I'm going to try and limit myself to 3-4 cigarettes a day - as smoke is the 2nd worse thing for the muscles in the anal region (COFFEE BEING THE #1!!)

As for the cream -I would highly highly recommend you try it. Calmoseptine Ointment - its properties contain Zinc Oxide and Menthol. Please please please give this a try.. it has done wonders.

Also, I have read a different post about liquid ibuprofen which can be found on Ebay (since it is not sold in the US) - I have not tried this yet, but from many different posts that I've read it seems that people have been using it to calm the muscles in that region. Has anyone tried this?

I am happy to tell you guys that nothing would have been possible without all of you. My weight is now at a healthy 145Lbs. I used to be 190! I feel better about myself, and I feel that this has aided me in the route to recovery. I would still check in here every so often, and I will continue to. So if you have any questions or I can be of help to anyone on this forum I would be more than happy to talk.

Lastly, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do not confuse my case with a hemorrhoid case - I have seen a number of specialists and know that I have/had CPPS. I did do physical therapy, and I did do a lot of the stuff the doctors have recommend - although a lot of them were completely useless. My pain did not correlate to a hemorrhoid case when I first started with the pain, I was having pain in my testicles as well, I couldn't sit.. it was bad. Very bad.

To conclude: This is a recoverable "disease" and science has finally come to realization that this issue is not curable with a simple pill. It takes some effort and time. DO NOT GIVE UP GUYS!

May God bless us all.
