Why does Concerta (Ritalin) eliminate pain?

Post by billy79 »

20 times or so I have taken Concerta (Methylphenidate Extended-Release Tablets for ADHD) post sex-pain, and every time I have felt calm in the pelvis and the pain (after some time) has gone away. Dexedrine works much better on the Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) for me, so I am currently on that.

I am asking because I wonder if I am improving by taking it, or if it just numbs the pain (my doctor said its not known to do that)

The flip side is that its slow release so if I am about to take it in the future maybe Ritalin is a better choice, since my orgasms tend to be at evening :)

I have searched and asked but not found an answer..I am primarily the inattentive type, so I am not the guy who runs around and suddenly be super-calm on it, although I can be very tired after intake sometimes and must force myself not to take a nap in the middle of the day.

Some clues maybe: Methylphenidate can augment the analgesic effects of opioids, and placebo-controlled trials have documented its efficacy as an adjunctive agent in the treatment of depression and pain.

Thanks, interesting. I did not take any opiates along with it, but I guess its just a positive side effect
