Do you guys do this when you have sex?
Do you guys do this when you have sex?
How many of you guys think you strain your pelvic muscles too much when you have an orgasm? Or maintain or try to "hold" your erection with pelvic muscles rather than letting it come natural? I have noticed that this is often the reason I have flare-ups and I think the main reason I have CPPS.
Age:33 | Onset Age:on and off since 16 | Symptoms: Semen Leakage when having a bowel movement, perineum pain, urethritits symptoms, Itching urethra, NO Bacteria ever found. | Helped By:reading A Headache in the Pelvis. | Worsened By: sitting, worrying about my problem (Antibiotics don't help, no bacteria in prostatic secretions).
Re: Do you guys do this when you have sex?
Indeed, I have this reflex of holding erection with the muscles, which is is a major flare-up trigger.
Age: 31 Location: France Symptoms: right epididymis pain, testicular soreness and pain, pain after ejaculation, gulf ball in rectum (now gone), pain at tip of penis (now gone), bent penis when in pain (not Peyronie's), burning after ejaculation, weird right testicular positions, big and painful lymph nodes (now gone). Makes worse: sex, tiredness, anxiety, cold Makes better: hot climate, stretches.
Re: Do you guys do this when you have sex?
This is a good thread!!!!
The idea that we try to bang like porn stars is entirely wrong with having sex...You have to be relaxed and let it happen and ejaculate with out trying to shoot for the moon. That's why it's best to have her on top and just relax and let it happen...The contractions are much more powerful and the post ejac pain is minimal if at all depending on the person and their symptoms.
And of course I always say stay away from those free big tit websites...They are pelvic clenching killers... Or at least keep it to a minimum and or stand up with you computer on a counter so your not sitting hunched over the lap top. Of course I wouldn't know anything about that kind of behavior...

I encourage anxiety prone UCPPS people to consider L-Theanine
Age, 44 onset age 37 Feb 2006 Freq. need to urinate. Sensation of having to urinate soon after going. Perineum discomfort/burning/tightness, pubic area discomfort @ times, poor urine stream, post urine dripping/spray. All symptoms have improved with my protocol. At the worst I give it a 1 to 2 on irritation and discomfort and frequency. Helps: Elavil 5mg for anxiety and mast cell protection, (will only take it as needed) self internal PT as needed, stretching, walking, stairmaster cardio workout and light weights, reducing stress, moment to moment relaxation, deep breathing relaxation and using a Theracane. Makes worse: sitting for long periods, stress, over focusing on it. Currently 95%-98% recovered. Stay positive, relaxed and control your anxiety.

Re: Do you guys do this when you have sex?
Indeed, I remember reading in A HEADACHE IN THE PELVIS that men tend to use sex/masturbation as a way to control anxiety. This is exactly me, if I don't have sex/masturbate for a few days I tend to be much more anxious, then I masturbate/have sex and "all is under control" again. As such, I think we tend to over react to erection, and, instead of relaxing and enjoying, we tend to contract and want more/longer/better/whatever. This is also why I think ejaculation tends to be such a flare-up trigger for us, and why Webslave advice of relaxing when ejaculating is good.
This tendency to fight anxiousness by sex with contraction might also explain why we tend to contract pelvic muscles when nervous. We basically fall back to our way to fight stress.
This may not be true for all of us, as I am pretty sure we didn't all got to chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome by the same ways, but I am confident that this is at least my case, and that I need to express things by words and bonding rather than retreating behind sex if I want to be symptom free.

Re: Do you guys do this when you have sex?
Carld lol. You are right. These are some good responses.
I think we all have been trying too hard. I had read another post and commented on. Where a guy was saying that he used to be able to hold his orgasms and have control over them, by resisting them. I am one that used to do this, along with the other things we have been discussing. The cycle of trying to keep an erection for as long as you can, resisting orgasm, or simply trying too hard to satisfy girlfriend/wife, has lead to these symptoms. Have any of you guys in the past have held back or tried to control your ejaculation?

On another note of this thread.
Over-worked, tensed, tight muscles surrounding our ejaculatory organs/penis,bladder..etc. Can this illicit an immune response?
I feel that there is no definitive answer for this. Have you ever had abnormal high white blood cells in your ejaculation or prostate secretions with no cause(std, bacteria, etc.) for this immune response?
https://ucpps.men/autoimmunity-and-chronic-prostatitis-CPPS
I had the classic signs of reiters syndrome/Reactive Arthritis but with no cause of infection. Example: Urethritis, conjuctivitis, arthritis, problems with gastrointestinal tract. Since I have not been tensing my pelvic muscles and been having normal orgasms and basically not "over doing it" I have felt better. I also took a shot in the dark, so to speak, and asked my doctor to give me a round of prednisone for 7 days, during this time. I have felt better since then and the symptoms were gone after a few weeks. Sometimes one or two symptoms will return but don't stay for years years like they used to. Maybe stay for a day or so, then I move on.

Re: Do you guys do this when you have sex?
I've noticed that if I have a few drinks I am more relaxed and my muscles don't get tight around abs after ejaculation. If I haven't been drinking and bang away like a porn star things usually flare up. Sometimes my girlfriend will want to go 2 or 3 times and I know I am going to suffer the next few days. My frequency sometimes picks up to, I think all the muscles around bladder are same ones used to ejaculate and they just get all tense. I have cut back on sex to about 3 times per week and like Carl said . . .let her get on top and just relax! Trying to last and hold orgasm doesn't really cause me trouble its when I actually finish that causes the problem. On the other hand I feel better when I do have sex and after my stream is sometimes much stronger. I think cutting back to 2 or 3 times a week and letting her do most of the work is the way to go.
Age 32, onset 32 Onset Aug 07- frequency was main problem in the beginning-really bad. Now 1 to 2x per night when frequency flairs up. Sore and tight lower abdominal muscles. Occasional burning after bowel movement and full feeling. What helps: Healthy diet(this is huge for me) Started drinking super greens supplament and almost going totally vegetarian to get body more alkaline, starting Prosta-Q, quercetin/zinc tablet in morning helped frequency problem I believe. Massaging abs and doing stretches helps calm down frequency when it is acting up. Wine or vodka after long day. Flexeral and melatonin at night. Swimming and light weights. .5 of Elavil every other day helps with frequency and healing process. Trying to stay positive and not stressing over this!

Re: Do you guys do this when you have sex?
I did it...I used to act like a porn actor, really...it was so wrong. 50% of my chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome I am sure comes from this attitude! God I wish had known it... I now do what you suggest here..and it really makes the difference..the problem is that my lady loves "brutal" :) sex..so I am trying to play with her and some tools before having the intercourse... when I was young I used to masturbate a lot and many times I was able to do a sort o "tantric orgasm" soooo bad to me... I never ever hold the orgasm..you can try a sort of doggy-crap style.
I don't move my body when I have sex now. I stay there relaxed and everything seems to work up to now... another brick in the hue chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome wall of victory!

Age:24 | Onset Age:21 | Symptoms:Before; BURNING pain after any urination, Pain after Ejaculation 50% of the times, Fatigue, Burning Urethra and a Huge golf ball in the perineum area. Now; Discomfort, generally speaking after urination, but it is much better! Ejaculation is still painful sometime, Perineum discomfort (my wost symptom in these last few months) | Helped By:Stanford/Wise-Anderson Protocol, Physical Activity (light), Jacuzzi and hot baths, Relaxation, IBUPROFENE, Sex (normal, not masturbation cause it makes things worse), Soap if I masturbate, <internal trigger points release. | Worsened By: Sit ups, Legs training, COLD, Anxiety and stress.Sometimes internal TPs Release make me feel bad..

to an extreme degree, as well as pc muscle excercises to an EXTREME degree, this is probably the main reason why I am here. I used to do like hundreds of really hard pc contractions daily and during sexual activity. It trained me to contract in situations where there should be no contractionsHave any of you guys in the past have held back or tried to control your ejaculation?
Age: 25 | Onset Age: 19 | Symptoms: cloudy white urine (most frequently in the colder months of the year), pain in testicles (very infrequent and mild nowdays, used to be 24/7 and bad for like at least 1 1/2 years), pain in lower back (now virtually nonexistant, used to be 24/7), muscle spasm in perineum area (during sexual activity, extreme stress/injury, sneezing, and when changing position when lying down), dribbling after urination, weak urine stream, a feeling of not emptying completely after urination, sometimes hesitancy starting, golfball feeling in rectum at times (usually relieved/lessened by defecation), premature ejaculation, little pleasure when ejaculating too quickly from masturbating, weak erections most of the time (and even if they have some strength sometimes, usually it goes limp after a few minutes), white particulate matter in semen most of time, | Helped By: Relaxation | Worsened By: ejaculation, or any kind of sexual activity, especially prolonged arousal without touching my genitals, spicy foods, hard excercises, prolonged sitting

tension and clenching in sex
Good Thread, It is true. We are conditioned that banging away is the way to good sex, (It is not). The feedback I get from the lady is that smooth, steady and sustained beats clubbing every time. Still old habits require attention to break. Tension is the enemy of good sex and is a cause of PE.
By the way, my age and experience has taught me that one round done right beats three rounds done wrong. I wish someone had taught me that in my teens or twenties.
