I've read on this forum that the chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome side effects caused by Allegra-D (telfast in the uk) go in 4-6 weeks.
I've tried it for a day or two and not felt particularly well as far as my chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome is concerned.
Just wondered if anyone has taken it and the side-effects have vanished in a shorter space of time?
Don't fancy having a six week flareup, especially as I haven't had a flare-up lasting more than a day or two for years.
Thanks.

Re: Allegra-D side-effects
Allegra-D contains a decongestant (pseudoephedrine). That's what causes the problem.
The flareup can last quite a while, but usually only lasts a few days.

Re: Allegra-D side-effects
Hmmm.....it's not Allegra-D, it is actually Telfast I am taking which doesn't include the decongestant.
So I'm assuming its the effect on the muscles and so on........
Just wondered if that always lasts 4-6 weeks or if anyone has experienced those bladder effects not lasting as long?
Thanks.

Re: Allegra-D side-effects
Oh, sorry, I altered the name of this thread to Allegra-D because that's the form that usually causes a problem.
Telfast D also contains pseudoephedrine, BTW. Allegra on its own shouldn't cause a problem beyond a little pinching because of the anticholinergic (antimuscarinic) activity.

Re: Allegra-D side-effects
I'm definitely taking Telfast on it's own.....
Maybe the problem was because the tablets are 120mg?
I've started cutting them in half and I'm going to see how that goes.
Thanks for the help.
