Ecstasy (MDMA) and CPPS
I had an interesting experience this weekend. I've been having a really bad flareup for the last couple weeks, (frequency, muscle aches, cfs, pain and soreness around my genitals etc.) and on Friday I popped an X pill and went out to the club. I was able to drink all night with NO frequency issues and very little pain. The next day I woke up feeling better than I had in a long time...and it's two days later an I'm still feeling some positive affects from the experience including a lot less pain. I really think that this is something that should be looked into. I understand long term frequent X use can deplete serotonin reuptake, but I don't think it's a big deal if it's done 4-6 times a year or something like that. Has anyone else had experiences with X that have had a positive affect on your CPPS? I think some of the relief comes from the cognitive change you experience while "rolling".
Age: 24 | Onset Age: 21 | Symptoms: pain and pressure around groin area, "hard-flaccid" penile condition, penis looks shrunken, seems to lack blood flow to a certain degree, perineum, and sacrum, lower back pain/swelling, erections either rock hard and super sensitive or weak, frequent sometimes uncomfortable urination | Helped By: PT, Quercitin, hot epsom salt baths, diaphramic breathing, muscle relaxers, | Worsened By: Opiates, Stress, Uncomfortable chairs, Frequent Masturbation

Taking x is not part of our protocol for treating UCPPS....
You went out and took x and had a good time...Having fun and letting go could have relaxed you and eased symptoms....Believe me...the benefit does NOT out weigh the negative....
Best, Carl...

I encourage anxiety prone UCPPS people to consider L-Theanine
Age, 44 onset age 37 Feb 2006 Freq. need to urinate. Sensation of having to urinate soon after going. Perineum discomfort/burning/tightness, pubic area discomfort @ times, poor urine stream, post urine dripping/spray. All symptoms have improved with my protocol. At the worst I give it a 1 to 2 on irritation and discomfort and frequency. Helps: Elavil 5mg for anxiety and mast cell protection, (will only take it as needed) self internal PT as needed, stretching, walking, stairmaster cardio workout and light weights, reducing stress, moment to moment relaxation, deep breathing relaxation and using a Theracane. Makes worse: sitting for long periods, stress, over focusing on it. Currently 95%-98% recovered. Stay positive, relaxed and control your anxiety.

I''m not saying it's for everyone, but I think people should be at least open to the possibility of it being beneficial.

The long term side effects from x is not an option for UCPPS in my opinion... Reading your signature...I believe you can do well based on the protocols that are listed here...There are no magic bullets or short cuts with this condition...Ultimately you have to decide and if you can't..."pain will be your teacher"

X actually normally causes a tightening of the muscles. Which is why people don't feel the need to go to the toilet. There is actually a case in Australia of a girl who flooded her brain from drinking too much water and not going to the toilet. It is also why men often can't get it up whilst on the stuff, but then get massively horny on the come down.
I'm not telling you not to take the stuff, I do sometimes as well and notice I don't need to go the toilet as much. I just think you should be aware of the science behind it and to be careful not to abuse the good feeling of not needing to go to the toilet (coupled with the thirst you get on the stuff). It is interesting that you didn't get a flare after a couple of days. Although your good experience maybe took your mind off the condition, or maybe it was like a massive progressive muslce relaxation session

Age:24 | Onset Age:22 | Symptoms: Urgency and penile tip pain. Frequency at it worst. Reduced libido and functioning. | Helped By: Prostate massage. That's about it so far. Haven't thoroughly tried PT yet however. | Worsened By: Sitting. Perhaps stress and negative thoughts. Chiro, candida detox and standard treatments have not helped.

No offense, but that site screams anti-drug hysteria, most of it isn't very well written either. They reference different studies, which involve people who have severely abused the drug (taking multiple pills a day every day for a sustained period of time). I think we need to distinguish use from abuse. Taking 1 or 2 pills 4-6 times a year, to me, is responsible use....especially if I feel like I benefit from it. I never said I was looking for a magic bullet, just posting a personal experiance.carld wrote:The long term side effects from x is not an option for UCPPS in my opinion... I'm amazed. Whenever I've taken acid or mushrooms, my symptoms have gone through the roof. I would think that X would be deleterious as well. I don't indulge in anything but red wine these days or I'd at least give it a try.

Re: Ecstasy (MDMA) and CPPS
Whoops, I sort of posted wondering about MDMA in another thread...
So far I count 2 people on this board who have said that MDMA is beneficial. I don't touch anything other than the odd beer with friends anymore, but I remember reading that in the 80's psychiatrists were using MDMA with their therapy with success, so I do have an open mind about things.....Wouldn't it be typical that while we here are all focused on being healthy, that others might be keeping shit like this at bay somehow with recreational drug use....

Age: 26 - | Onset Age: 23 - | Symptoms: painful urination, painful ejaculation, cold penis, chronic pain through perenial area and penis esp. at tip of penis, penis desensitization, general pelvic discomfort and pain, dribbling, shooting pains up to abs, VERY easy loss of erection - | Worsened By: cold, sexual activity, alcohol, stress/stressful/strenuous activity, heavy lifting, concentrated urine, marajuana, hiking downhill, running - No Effect: stretching, acupuncture, mindfullness, relaxation, meditation, a blockers (alfuzosin, tamsulosin), antibiotics, painkiller, muscle relaxents, valerian root, quercetin (3 months...tried twice), low oxylate diet, herbal tinctures - Currently Trying: Lyrica 450mg/day + Tegretol 600mg/day. Seems to help a little, but the withdrawal + possibilities of worse pain make it scary to go off...
Re: Ecstasy (MDMA) and CPPS
Bottom line, you were experience the euphoria of the drug and it's afterglow. The pleasure chemicals in you body were ramped up and everything felt better. Its a transient and ephemeral. More of a short reprieve than a viable solution. Same is true with opiates, at first they work great becuase your whole body feels better. Once a tolerance rears up and you loss the euphoria (unless taking ever increasing dosages), the perceived nociceptive attenuation is dramatically reduced.
No a viable alternative. Its like taking heroin to cure a headache.

Hello
I used to be a regular mdma user before I got CPPS, from your experience does it add to the pain? If it doesn't make pain worse, please let me know!
