Loss of sensation in penis

Post by angelhead »

Hi all,

I posted recently as I have experienced sudden and therefore scary ED and, as I've had mild CP symptoms for the past few years, assumed it was related.

After a few weeks of trying to work out what my body can do and what it can't I've realised that it's less an ED problem and more the fact that my penis has lost all erotic sensation. Before, if it was touched then the sensation would trigger arousal and cause me to get erect. No more. It's like the sensations been been 'turned off'.

Could it be that the prostate or surrounding muscles are pressing on nerves that control this sensation? I've had a flare up recently (four days of pain) that has now passed and I've been feeling good for over a week. Will service resume as normal soon? It's frightening and feels very odd so I certainly hope so...

I'd really appreciate any advice and reassurance anyone can give.

Stevie

Hello,

as far as I know, loss of sensitivity in the penis is temporary. When I had my first flare up, years ago, I lost sensitivity for a week, so try to remain calm: it will get better.
Age: 28* | Onset Age: 24, with mild symptoms* | Symptoms: penis and bladder burning, anus and rectum burning* | Helped By: B12 supplementation* | Worsened By: got worse after antibiotics cycles

I think you may be right. While I can feel pain, there is very little arousal feeling there. It's as though all the pain overrides the pleasant sensations :boese:
Age:33 | Onset Age:19 | Symptoms:burning urethra, deep sore stinging around the perineum, dribbling | Helped By:when flare starts deep relaxing over a toilet to let out dribbling urine, hot bath, rubbing a heat cream on the perineum, Tens with a pad on the perineum, running, medication (solpadol) for pain. Current treatment: PT. | Worsened By:sitting, stressing over it, ejaculation, sometimes alcohol but I risk it. Been feeling a lot better last 6 months about 85% with a few flares lasting about 5 days. No longer having PT. Stretching every other night and I believe time is also a big factor for me

Yes this is exactly what happens to me. It seems to go in bouts. I get a good patch for a few days and then a flare for five days. For me it's like the mental part is there but the physical part goes out.
Age: 33 | Onset Age: 28
Flare | Symptoms: burning after urination/defecation, post-urinary dribbling, low libido, low arousal, pelvic aches and pains.
Helped By: Physical therapy of the levator ani muscle group, Relaxation, Diet
Worsened By: Eating refined sugar and gluten, coffee, beer, stress

But I don't have any pain. Just a deadness. I'm hoping things will get better soon.

Yes, my symptoms are not about pain so much anymore. Its mostly just muscle discomfort spasm and pulling but not a whole lot of pain or burning. I only get pain and burning when I hit an internal trigger point or touch my prostate during a flare. Occasionally I will experience slight burning after urination and sometimes ejaculation.
