Prostatitis and overlapping Irritable Bowel Syndrome
I was diagnosed a few years ago with prostastitis by my urologist.After being treated with Cipro I went for a follow-up as I was still having lower abdominal pain and bad constipation thinking I still had prostatitis but my urologist after some tests found me to be free of prostatitis.He suggested me go to my family doctor who was`nt sure what to do so I suggested since my family has had a history of minor colon problems maybe I had some other illness related to the colon.He referred me to get a colonoscopy and an endoscope.I was then diagnosed with Irritable bowel syndrome,acid reflux disease and had a small polyp removed from my colon.I`ve dealt with these problems and feel well now which is another subject but I have to wonder how many people keep on suffering without checking for other overlapping problems.

Same here.Didn't even got a firm "prostatitis" diagnosis but have had IBS shortly after.

To be frank IBS is a bullshit diagnosis in my opinion. Had all the IBS symtoms and diagnoses' for a decade then cut out wheat/gluten and not a problem since. I used to have gass and cramps EVERY night after eating for 2 hours!!!
