Body Ache and Feverish Feeling
Body Ache and Feverish Feeling
I am new to CPPS, having had it now for approximately 4 months. The one thing that is constant about this pain has been that I get mild fever symptoms every day in the evening (body ache, headache, tiredness, and heat flashes). Is this typical, and do you think that sitting all day is the cause of this issue?

I'm also experiencing the same thing. I'm ok when I wake up, but as the day progresses-I get the same symptoms-headache, feverish feeling, which comes and goes. I'm not sure how long we can expect it to last. Have you had any improvement in the last 4 months? For me the golf ball feeling has now turned into more or less a burning feeling-Once again, it's ok in the morning then later on in the day it's more of a burning feeling. I have normal urine in the morning, but later on it burns. Did they put you on antibiotics when it first occurred?

No, the fever and ache has not receeded yet. It sounds like you and I have very similar symtpoms. I have been on 7 days levaquin, and then intraprostat injections, followed by 2 months of clarythromicin and macrobid.
I will let you know if anything fixes it. I can say that Ibuprofen helps with the fevers and body aches.

Did they diagnose you with bacterial prostatitis or the inflammatory type CPPS? You can email directly through my profile, so we can communicate better. The first uro I saw said it's bacterial I'm seeing a second one later today for a second opinion.

As I said elsewhere recently, some men, and I was one of them, have a concomitant case of chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS). Symptoms are vague feverishness, fatigue, malaise, easily tired, evanescent and migratory pains around the body and joints, and more. It makes CPPS/pelvic myoneuropathy that much worse. In my case I think it was caused by anxiety and stress overload that exhausted my adrenal glands.

I've had the same job for some time. It's not very stressful, and nothing else in my life has changed except for the prostatitis. I believe that getting body aches and pain, tiredness, headache, etc at the end of the day all at the same time that I started noticing pain at the tip of my penis is related. I don't believe that I have CFS.

With certain allergic responses you can run a mild fever. The body believes it is under attack and will run a fever to "burn off" the perceived invader. I get this quite frequently. Also, you can get this feeling from certain food intolerances.Dell4444 wrote:I've had the same job for some time. glad I am not crazy, I have been feeling same symptoms especially when I sleep as it wakes me up. I figured my body is trying to fight off some infection but they have found one yet. I think it could be anxiety related because I do not get these feeling while I'm on antibiotics or doing something where I am not thinking about my condition. When you are at home and stressed you maybe thinking too much and therefore anxiety kicks in. The mind is a powerful thing, I may try some anxiety medication to see if this helps??? Anybody else try this?

Age 32, onset 32 Onset Aug 07- frequency was main problem in the beginning-really bad. Now 1 to 2x per night when frequency flairs up. Sore and tight lower abdominal muscles. Occasional burning after bowel movement and full feeling. What helps: Healthy diet(this is huge for me) Started drinking super greens supplament and almost going totally vegetarian to get body more alkaline, starting Prosta-Q, quercetin/zinc tablet in morning helped frequency problem I believe. Massaging abs and doing stretches helps calm down frequency when it is acting up. Wine or vodka after long day. Flexeral and melatonin at night. Swimming and light weights. .5 of Elavil every other day helps with frequency and healing process. Trying to stay positive and not stressing over this!
Do you actually have a low grade fever or is it a feeling of fever? I had the same thing when mine started 4years ago. Mine was pure mental however. I know that for a fact since I got the same thing when another very stressful event happened 3 years later. Try and start relaxation and try to keep your mind off this.

Hey paso
No temperature just feels like I have one. Get hot flashes too but not when I am on medication. Maybe because it makes me more mellow. You may be right because I didn't get this feeling till I became really stressed out about this whole thing. My symptoms are just discomfort in bladder and frequency on and off, slight pain in urethra. Did your symptoms get worse before they got better? Trying to figure out if this is progressive. I can't figure out triggers are either, feels same no matter what. Caffeine may trigger frequency though. Thanks for the reply!

TCM
I know I am a little biased but...
I am a TCM (traditional Chinese medicine) practitioner. Your low grade night heat is a very typical sign in Chinese medicine that can be treated quite well. I have seen well over 100 cases myself and have about a 90% cure rate.
It may or may not be related to your CPPS. It can be a common sign/ symptoms, but many people who dont have other illness never seem to talk about it, because they figure its just one of those weird things in life. It can be controlled and even cured.
Treatment takes a fairly long time (few months), but usually just requires some mild herbal formulas once or twice a day. At the same time, they can throw in some herbs to help with the chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome pain (which may or may not work).
Go see someone who does herbs as well as acupuncture. Acupuncture can help, but for these cases herbs is wayyyyy quicker. (And less of a hassle). Make sure they use herbal formulas that are made in the US or Europe. I generally avoid prescribing herbs from china these days. (Contamination and all). They cost a bit more, but its worth the price for your own safety, and they are much more potent. They come in pills or capsules that have been made in a lab so they are easy to take. Make sure you see someone who is licensed and has a lot of experience.
Let me know if I can help anymore.
