I have found that every other day has been helpful with sex. Sometimes once a day but it depends on the muscles around my prostate. If I can keep them relaxed then releasing the fluids helps.

I encourage anxiety prone UCPPS people to consider L-Theanine
Age, 44 onset age 37 Feb 2006 Freq. need to urinate. Sensation of having to urinate soon after going. Perineum discomfort/burning/tightness, pubic area discomfort @ times, poor urine stream, post urine dripping/spray. All symptoms have improved with my protocol. At the worst I give it a 1 to 2 on irritation and discomfort and frequency. Helps: Elavil 5mg for anxiety and mast cell protection, (will only take it as needed) self internal PT as needed, stretching, walking, stairmaster cardio workout and light weights, reducing stress, moment to moment relaxation, deep breathing relaxation and using a Theracane. Makes worse: sitting for long periods, stress, over focusing on it. Currently 95%-98% recovered. Stay positive, relaxed and control your anxiety.

Hi,

I initially thought I damaged myself from too much masturbation which caused the prostatitis. This belief was heightened because I wasn't actually diagnosed for ages. So I went through ages of trying not to touch it etc, torture haha.

I enjoy ejaculation, feels like its activating the muscles and relieving tension there. But today after sex/masturbation my penis will be sore for several days, not the general pelvis. Does anyone else have this?

I find that self-induced is relaxing if not done to excess, but if someone else brings it about, there's so much anxiety that I'm often sore afterwards and the orgasm itself hurts a little while the orgasm sensation itself is lessened. And I knew all that long before CPPS. I just thought I was wired that way.

Hmmm,

Its a tricky one. Because my penis itself would hurt I thought it was something on the surface so I first went to skin doctors and things like that. For me it seems the friction does the hurting, so wherever the friction is most thats where it would hurt. But it doesn't take too much to hurt eg even with lots of lube. All I can say is that I'm ridiculously sensitive in that area. (I remember you saying that you'd walked so your trousers wouldn't touch your peepee (lol, laughing at the word not you), I'm not that bad, or not now anyway). But this is still variable. I get the general burning/discomfort but the penis pain is prob the most irritating.

I guess I can relate to the thinking you are wired that way, because masturbation/sex is one of those illicit activities you do as an early teenager, whatever, not sure that was on topic or relevant.

For ages I tried to limit the amount of sex I had, so now its difficult to kick the libido into gear and when I do its difficult to maintain control (lol tmi). So I guess I have general anxiety around sex with another and masturbation is currently seen as a luxury. Girls don't seem to mind too much because I'm "nice", man I want to punch someone out lol. Who wants to have "nice" sex anyway?

I experience this to some degree, but I dont think I'm anxious with my wife, its more that I get more worked up, more arousal for a much longer period of time. My orgasms are stronger with a partner than alone, so I think for me thats why alone is sometimes a relaxant to those muscles and sex usually causes a little irritation, but thats my take on it.

Thanks dude,

I had sex with an actual woman the other night and it didn't hurt. I think I'm going to take a break from posting for a little bit and get some work done. It is possible to get carried away.

Thanks,
Damien

I really think the issue of ejaculating and the frequency in how often you do it is really up to the person. I would take a certain month and at the end of the month you chose take a count of how often you ejaculated was it once a week or twice a week or even more than twice a week. Maybe you only ejaculated 2 or 3 times in that whole month which means you were able to do it once a week and was able to skip a week or even two weeks. See how your pain was each time you ejaculated and also see how the pain was from week to week in that month. Just a thought I had on this subject.

Damien 6-
My main symptom is certainly soreness in the penis itself, it feels like a large aching bruise for 4-10 hours after, especially pronounced if I have an inadvertant erection during that time period (nocturnal erections are the worst for this and often wake me up), I have found this pain to be the most stubborn in terms of getting better with treatment, but I am almost positive it too is related to muscles for several reasons:
1. I used to have the *exact* same pain before chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome when I would over masturbate (2-3 times a day)
2. It is currently allievated by all the same things which make my muscle problems better- hot bath, Ativan, bed rest, relaxation...etc.
Age:22 | Onset Age:16.5 | Symptoms: Pain with extended sitting, Pain shortly folllowing urination, mostly above pubic bone, Pain after defecation mostly around external sphincter, Pain after ejaculation mostly in Urethra | Helped By: Progressive and Moment to Moment Relaxation, Stretching, Bed Rest (laying down and relaxing muscles), Hot Baths, Hot Showers, | Worsened By: Alcohol (variably), Ejaculation, Urination, Defecation, Stress, Extended Sitting, Sleeping in the wrong position, tensing my muscles while writing or doing anything else stressful/intense, Progress: 65%, basically only dealing with post-ejaculatory pain, onset after about an hour, peaks for 3-6 hours and then remains sore for a day.

For me, the pain I feel has been less about the frequency of ejaculation and more about my ability to thoroughly relax my pelvic muscles before and during ejaculation....
44 years old. Chronic Prostatitis (onset age 38) for 6 years. In the midst of worst flare-up of my life. Tried all conventional methods without success. | Symptoms: Severe burning on tip of penis, burning between rectum and scrotum. Meds: Hytrin, Atavan, percocet (all at night). Natural Meds: Quercitin, Vitamin C and E and B Complex, Niacinimide, Salmon Oil, Garlic supplement, cranberry extract, concentrated liquid chlorophyll. | Helped By: warm baths, stretching, running. | Worsened By: not sure but suspect unhealthy eating, stress, negative thoughts.
