Update

Post by Rhemium »

I vowed long ago to give 6 month updates about my condition...so...

Last time I reported it was after a shitty flare-up as a result of being forced to take loads of Benadryl to combat a fairly serious allergic reaction. That flare wasn't quite as bad as I remember but it was very debilitating and painful nonetheless. Luckily it subsided within a few weeks. Now I know to avoid Benadryl.

Since then I have had a couple annoying episodes which usually occur after I've been constipated. The trick for me is to avoid constipation, sit on donut cushions at all costs and avoid Benadryl.

I exercise, play softball/basketball, run at full speed...eat/drink what I want...life could be much worse. I don't particularly enjoy mildly feeling like I have to piss all the time and a general achey discomfort constantly, but I consider myself lucky that I survived the 2 years of Hell when this shit first started.
Age: 41. Onset: 28. Symptoms: perineum burn and urinary. Musts: donut cushion and stay unconstipated.

Thanks for the update. I don't remember your story specifically, but I do remember your name, which means you must have had it bad. I'm glad you have improved somewhat. Your perspective on the mild flare-ups is great. My guess is that when they happen, you don't let your entire life fall apart as a result. It all comes with experience. Hopefully, you can continue your recovery and get to 100% symptom free at some point.

Take care,

Mike
