It is important to understand a few key points about this:
1. Rhonda Kotarinos recommends using ice instead of heat for both nerve and pelvic floor muscle problems. For those who do not know, Rhonda is about the best there is in the world of PT's treating pelvic floor pain. People come from all ...

Re: Posterior Femoral Cutaneous Nerve
Hi Andy,
I just sent you an email. Great to hear from you!
Good talking to all you guys and I will consider the option of Elavil. I will try to be drug free at first but it is nice to know there is another option.
By the way Rhonda Kotorinos recommends ice for pelvic pain also. I just want to ...

Re: Posterior Femoral Cutaneous Nerve
Thanks both of you for your comments.
What I find interesting is that on the weekends I do not sit much at all and the pain level generally goes to a level 0 to 1, never higher than 2 (this morning on Sunday I feel no pain really at all).
When the work week starts however I generally kick up to 2 ...

Re: Posterior Femoral Cutaneous Nerve
According to Rhonda this nerve is usually the cause of our sitting problems. She said the Pudendal nerve is usually not the cause because it is buried too deep, whereas this nerve is fairly close to the surface of the skin.

Posterior Femoral Cutaneous Nerve
Hi Everybody,
After about 4 years of being virtually symptom free I started to have some problems a few months ago (the wand did not seem to fix this). I was fortunate enough to get in to see Rhonda Kotorinos (world renowned PT).
Here are some of the key points from this whole experience ...

Re: Annual Update from NoMoPain
Hi guys,
Sorry it has taken me so long to get back to you on this.
Calguy,
The WRONG kind of exercises for me are biking or anything that puts a tremendous strain on the pelvic floor muscles. My PT showed one exercise that I do to strengthen my abs without causing strain on the pelvic floor (I ...

Re: Annual Update from NoMoPain
Hi Coppertop and Scotsman,
Coppertop,
My initial symptoms were just about everything you can imagine with this condition - pain in butt, pain in groin, increased pain after sex, increased urinary frequency etc.. Of course with all this came a lot of anxiety and depression.
What I did to overcome ...

Annual Update from NoMoPain
Hi Everyone,
I am stil doing pretty good since my last post over a year ago. Still pain free all the time, most nights only get up once to pee. I would say maybe 3% of the time I might feel a little tightness or tension, but not too bad.
I still use the wand about 1 or times per month on average ...

Re: Anxiety and symptoms
Check out the logic I have listed below regarding anxiety:
1. Anxiety is probably the single biggest cause of pelvic pain. This assertion comes not just from my own opinion, but also from my Physical Therpist who has about 15 years of pelvic therapy experience.
2. There is ample empirical studies ...

Re: Mental recovery first before the physical can follow
I completely agree with what Viking says "Mental recovery first, then the physical will follow".
I remember a point in my recovery where if I had no stress, I would have no symptoms. Then some stressful trigger would occur (a fight with my wife, work related garbage, traffic, or whatever) and then ...

Update From NoMoPain (one year later)
Hi Everyone,
It has been about 13 months since my last update, so I figure I am overdue.
Things are still going good for me. I am still pain free and have no urinary symptoms. About 1% to 2% of the time I feel some tightness and\or mild discomfort, but it is not bad at all. I still do internal ...

Feeling Gratitude For A Change
Hi everyone,
I was sitting here tonight whining to myself about some of the recent bickering me and my wife have been having. Really trivial stuff like she yelled at me for buying the wrong toilet paper !
But then I started to think about how good my life is now compared to how bad it was just 3 ...

I would give you my standard advice about getting a wand and learning how to do the internal work yourself. That is the only thing that has worked for me. I am pain free but I still do the internal work on myself twice a week for about 30 to 45 minutes. The idea is to keep those pelvic muscles loose ...

My guess would be that you already had some restrictions and\or latent (means non-active) trigger points in your pelvis, but the stress of the infidelity was enough to "trigger" so to speak the trigger points.
I think you are taking a very healthy approach to this though. Just by talking about the ...
