Therapy insight (e-stim)
I have been going through the pt for a few weeks now. My pt is a pelvic specialist, but I dont think she has a lot of experience working with men. She has a good heart and you can tell really wants to help. That being said, the only concentration has been on the rectal area, and from what I ...

Therapy Question
I feel blessed to have been referred to physical therapy and have had three sessions now....I am willing to be patient. The bizarre thing is some things are getting better while other symptoms are worsening....I asked the therapist if I had any trigger points and she said basically the whole muscle ...

Therapy question
I finally was referred to a urologist who actually gave a flip and didn't just want too give me more antibiotics...He had a great bedside manner and simply listened to my symptoms. He said he had looked over my info and at lunch had visited with some pelvic floor therapists. They told him they ...

Re: Elavil and Flexeril
How long before you noticed it working, what were your original symptoms? Was it mostly pain, or did you have urinary issues as well?

Elavil and Flexeril
I have seen numerous posters mention success with these drugs. I mentioned this to my gp today who said lets give it a shot. I couldn't remember what mgs people were taking, so I told him I think 10....He prescribed 10 mg of each to take in the evening. Is that what others who have had success have ...

Re: Another thought
I'll give it a shot, I live in a relatively small population center....I did see that we have pelvic floor therapists, ironically in my neighborhood, but on their website of conditions treated prostatitis is not mentioned, so they may turn me away. It also looks like they work mostly with ...

Re: Another thought
I have a high deductible so I would be paying but am willing to fork down money for anything that will help. I'm really leaning to the pt though because what seemed to help some was the valium and I am prone to tightness in general.

Re: Another thought
I saw a urologist who did a DRE and examined the prostatic secretions under a microscope and said there was inflammation and said I had prostatitis and prescribed more antibiotics coupled with Flomax. I only took the Flomax briefly because it didn't make any sense to me because I didn't have any ...

Well as I expected the colonoscopy was 1k down the drain....so the scrotal and testicle pain is something that typically is helped by the trigger point etc? I've been starting to wonder if it is ic because of the pain involved in ingesting certain vitamins, pro-biotics and foods which I understand ...

Okay I put in a signature, so basically the side effects mentioned would have nothing to do with urinary reflux into prostate, correct?

Flexeril is a relaxant and Elavil is a anti depressant that helps with nerve pain, when used in low doses. Lots of info on this site to read up on it! I tried it cause I had nothing to lose. My pharmacist said they needed to be used together. Give it time tho, some said up to a month before it ...

I am open minded and willing to consider that my problems are trigger point related. However, I do believe the initial phase was acute and if I had been properly treated it would have resolved. Irrelevant now I know, but I have been doing a little research on a drug I have seen many of us have used ...

Here is what I can for sure relate to, waking up feeling fine and then the pain starts not long after defecating or urinating....As the day wears on the longer I go without urinating the pain gradually goes from a 7 to a 2 or 3, and then 15 minutes after I urinate or longer the pain starts up again ...

Thanks lugnut, I have been exploring the "good bacteria" route actually and am having mild progress....I actually felt pretty good a few days ago and thought I could then have some caffeine, and a few glasses of wine and now some cold weather has set in and boom the cycle has begun again. The most ...
