mike,
you're putting the Theracane into your rectum? really . i don't know. while the wand and the Theracane have the same shape, the Theracane is 3x the diameter of the wand. newbies are way more likely to hurt themselves. just a thought.
for newbies, i would suggest not using the Theracane as ...

Re: Tensing
Mike,
Some gentle criticism. I mean, its a good starter list. But....you definitely don't need a teacher to learn how to meditate. I don't know. I think you are overthinking paradoxical relaxation. I've got all the tapes. I don't remember on any of them where I was told to tense and untense for 30 ...

Re: Hello all! New to the forum but not new to CPPS
Garys.. You were hitting the prostate, 3 inches in and 12 o clock. Thats a normal feeling when you do that. Don't do it. Stay at 11 and 1. You can gently sweep that area, but don't use much force.

Hey kevkos.
I'm in the UCSD system. When all this started I just chose UCSD because it was close. The UCSD urology dept is clueless as far as I'm concerned. I think I spoke to you previously that Lowell Parsons is there. I don't buy into his theory, and actually dislike much of what he has to say ...

Thats weird about the prescriptions. I mean, you're paying out of pocket. Do I need a prescription for a massage, now? These people are crazy. The good thing is you don't need 'em anyway.
Again, I would encourage getting gloves and lubricant and working on your own. In the beginning I purchased one ...

Re: New here- Here's my Story
Kevkos,
I didn't need a "prescription" from a doc. Depends on your insurance I guess. I doubled up a couple of times on sessions, so I had to pay out of pocket for one session and it was like $120. (this was 1.5 yrs ago)
First of all, your dr. Shouldn't have an issue writing for physical therapy ...

Re: Need Some Serious Help (GARYS case)
Gary,
You've obviously been dealing with this longer than I have. At the clinic, both Tim and Wise, stated that you would flare from treatment in the beginning and not to be deterred from this. Oddly, like you, in the beginning I felt like my bladder was not involved.
Urethral burning and tip of ...

Re: Need Some Serious Help (GARYS case)
Garys, been away for awhile. I stop sitting on the toilet 2 years ago. Now I squat on the toilet. I realize this isn't always possible for some. But if at home and you can, you should. Now... What I've found extremely helpful and posted several times about. Once you defecate, and are "squatting" on ...

I am a runner like you. Remember this. The endorphins generated by your active lifestyle are hugely important. When you stop these activities you can sink into a dark dark place. Your stress outlet is gone, and on top of it you feel like you have to pee all the time and you have pain in the ...

Re: Wise Anderson wand
The wand is trial and error. You don't need to go to the clinic. There is enough information on this site alone to help you work through any issues. Buy the wand. It's worth it. Its not rocket science. Just go slow and gentle. Its fairly intuitive. I like Tim and Tim is a great therapist. But he ...

The 3-5 seconds that it take you to begin urination, this is tense pelvic muscles attempting to relax. The pelvis has to relax for micturation to begin. Hallmark of CPPS. Seems like it would be a good idea for you to start stretching internally. See what that feels like.

Fanto,

Re: Need Some Serious Help (GARYS case)
Hi garys
Its hard to say exactly when things started getting better. I just kept / keep doing the meditation, stretching and the wand everyday. I think the key was when I de-emphasized the importance of it. Stopped dwelling on it. And, believe me, I know this is not easy. Especially when you are in ...

Alright workhurts. I'm not a doctor, but seems classic to me. Flexeril helped me a lot. Baclofen works. Any of the benzos. The benzos tend to work the best because it calms the mind as well as relaxes the skeletal muscles. Like webslave said, if you did a hydrodistension with lidocaine, of course ...
