Re: Wow...I feel humbled...
For an interesting twist on biking, I found this product
http://mantasaddle.biz/
I haven't tried it, but it looks interesting, if not scary.

Re: Wow...I feel humbled...
Prior to my onset of CCPS over 2 years ago, I was a triathlete. After the initial pieces I stopped all exercise for a few months and felt awful. I went back to swimming and ramped that up and in the pool is where I feel the best. I joined a master's team and it has been a great form of fitness ...

Re: Thoughts on where to go from here.
Thank you both for your thoughts.
@Sam I have actually seen 4 different PTs; all of whom were well versed and trained in internal TP release and subscribed to the theories in HITP. Marilyn Freedman is my current PT. According to most (and my doctor), she's the best around second to Tim Sawyer ...

Thoughts on where to go from here.
Dear fellow CPPS'ers,
I have been a member of this board for almost 2 years and have posted a few things from time to time. Mostly I read other's thoughts and have gained a great deal of insight especially from people like Webslave, Carl, and Jay. I am now looking for a bit more perspective from ...

Glad to her that life is good! Could you list for us what you initial symptoms were and what you did to overcome it (and how long it took?)
Many thanks and continued good health!

Re: New Jersey Urologist
I am currently seeing Dr. Robert Moldwin at LIJ on Long Island. He's great, but very busy and hard to get follow-ups with.
I was also very pleased with Dr. Matthew Rutman out of Columbia Univeristy in New York City. He is a urologist and very versed in CPPS.
I have not found any urologists that ...

Re: Dr Shoskes takes colleagues to task
I'd be curious as to what the "average urologist's" opinion on this article would be. I think I read somewhere that "prostatitis" accounts for 50% of a urologist's business.

Re: Physical Therapist - Central NJ
She was helpful and knowledgeable, and what she did alleviated my urinary symptoms but did nothing to alleviate the sitting pain. I have since relied on self PT.

Re: Pain with sitting?
I saw my PT Friday and she said that the increase in sitting pain was due to chronic shortening of psoas muscles and trocanters (sp?) when I sit so much. Her advice was:
Do wall stands with heel kick stretches several times a day.
Stretch quads hamstring and calves often
Set alarm on desk to ...

Re: Pain with sitting?
I used to have all the chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome symptoms (I'm coming up on 2 years from when this first started). All my other symptoms have gone, but the sitting pain remains. I do internal and external TP work on a regular basis and also stretch and stay active, but the ...

Extreme,
My experience mirrors yours. I'm coming up on two years of living with this issue. Aside from the literally dozens of tests I had in the first 6 months to rule out anything REALLY bad (all were negative) I found a urologist and a PMR doctor who both saw it as CPPS. I have seen four ...
