Re: Rolfing

Thanks for the reply Jay.

The reason I brought this up is because I truly think that poor posture can lead to muscle tension in the pelvic region in some. I have a surgery-recommended level of scoliosis and have a job that requires me to stand for long hours. I believe that my poor posture, which ...

Re: Tingling in Feet?

Yeah, I think that before I had started taking my alpha blocker, which has helped my symptoms, my feet were more tingly than usual. This would happen especially when I went into a hot bath. It was weird but I doubt it's anything serious.

Leg press and pain in groin

Hello all,

Years ago I used to have a gym membership and would do all sorts of weight lifting, that is until I got on the leg press machine one day and experienced a sharp, shooting nerve pain in my perineum when I completed a rep. This was the first prostate/groin related health issue I had ...

Re: 1.5 weeks on doxazosin and feeling better!

Yea, maybe I'll skip on the alpha blockers after this prescription runs out. Thanks for the info Webslave, I'll check up on those meds if possible. Also, thanks to carld --your list is good! I wish I had more time and money to devote to healing myself, but I'm busy with school and work right now ...

Re: 1.5 weeks on doxazosin and feeling better!

I doubt it was a placebo effect (I was skeptical about them throughout my treatment). Anyway, I hadnt felt such a drastic change in symptoms since my prostatitis/CPPS big flare up late last year. It really has helped a lot, even my mild IBS. I think its clearly the relaxing of the muscles that is ...

doxazosin's effect wearing out

Hello all,

I am 20 days in on my doxazosin prescription and I'm noticing its effectiveness is starting to wear off a bit. It had reduced my symptoms by half at its peak. I was wondering if I should try another alpha blocker or maybe stop taking it for a while and start back again later. Also ...

Re: Therapist recommendation for San Diego, CA area?

Thank you Jay,

I hope that you are doing well despite CPPS. Btw, how did you find out your back problem led to CPPS? I have scoliosis so my lumbar region isn't too well either.

Therapist recommendation for San Diego, CA area?

Hello all,

I was wondering if anyone knew of a good therapist in the San Diego, CA area. I have never seen one before and havent started any therapy for my chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome other than alpha blockers (cardura; its working a bit). Any help would be greatly ...

1.5 weeks on doxazosin and feeling better!

Hello all,

I just wanted to say that being a week on doxazosin has cleared up my symptoms 40-50 percent. This includes now non-painful ejaculations, less urine frequency and stronger stream, no more chronic ache in perineum and more energy overall. So, I have a question. What is it about this drug ...

Re: Do you think my prostatitis is bacterial? I'm stumped!

Thanks for letting me know about the scoliosis. One other thing if someone can tell me. How does chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome cause body aches, cloudy urine and night sweats? While its not every night, I do experience them.

significant scoliosis and CPPS or IBS link?

Does anyone know of a scoliosis link to IBS symptoms, or more significantly, CPPS? I have scoliosis and it has always made my muscles tight and achy when I stand a long time (lower back to the pelvic sides). After starting a job years ago which really made my lower back and tailbone area tight, I ...

Re: Do you think my prostatitis is bacterial? I'm stumped!

Thanks for your prompt reply, but what is the acronym you typed? I only know CPPS. Yea I'm trying to get an appointment for a transrectal ultrasound but the darn urologist is a you know what, and has a really unprofessional attitude. I've seen him a couple times and each time his demeanour implied ...

Do you think my prostatitis is bacterial? I'm stumped!

Firstly, for anyone viewing this post, thank you very much. I, like other people here, are yearning for help in coping with their prostatitis. Secondly, I would like to share my prostatitis story and see what all of you knowledgeable people have to say.

BTW I have suffered from mild IBS (looser ...
