Question about Protein

Since I've been dealing with CPPS I haven't been able to keep as active as I once was, and have seen my muscle strength deteriorate over time. As part of my plan to try to get back into shape I was thinking about taking some protein supplement, and mix it in a smoothie with fruit and vegetables ...

Re: Back after 10 years and extremely discouraged.

How are things now Austin?

I live just outside the GTA and have been dealing with CPPS for about 12 years. Most of that time I've been ok and been able to lead a relatively normal life, but it flares up every now and then. You just have to accept it and try not to stress about things. Anxiety ...

Re: Moment to Moment Relaxation

In a nutshell you just basically stop what you're doing and try to relax your pelvis floor muscles with deep abdominal breathing. You only do it for a minute or 2 and then go back to your normal routine. If you try to do this regularly throughout the day (Say every hour), then over time your body ...

Re: My Story

Hi WS, this was my main problem and still is to a certain extent. It's subsided to a bearable level now, I don't have a definitive answer for you, as we're all different, but here's what I've found helpful.

Sitz baths (pull foreskin back to expose the whole tip)
Apply polysporan gel to the tip in ...

Re: Sits Bone & Coccyx Pain

Just an update, The sitting pain is much better now. It looks like it was possibly a muscular thing that was caused by too much stretching/exercising, as I stopped all physical activities and things are pretty good now. My CPPS pain has also subsided a fair bit, and I don't get anywhere near as much ...

Re: Sits Bone & Coccyx Pain

I've been doing yoga for a bit now and it does help somewhat, especially if I don't overdo it. The last few weeks I've been doing less intense stretching/yoga and I've noticed a significant improvement.

I got my x-ray results back today and everything was normal, so that rules out arthritis or any ...

Re: Sits Bone & Coccyx Pain

I've eased off stretching for a bit, especially on the left side, and feel better. It's still there but it's more bearable. The problem is that by not doing my stretches/physical activity as much it seemed to have caused a flare in my other symptoms. I'm over the worst of that now also, so hopefully ...

Have you tried a stool softener, like Restoralax? That might help you keep taking your NSAID medication. Probably best to talk this through with a doctor, but I know people who take stool softeners every day.

Re: Sits Bone & Coccyx Pain

I'm going to go to my doctor first to get some imaging done (x-ray or MRI) to make sure it's not arthritis or something like that first, then for sure I'll make an appointment with a PT. I was just wondering if anyone else had similar symptoms.

Sits Bone & Coccyx Pain

I've been having lots of pain in my left buttock (round about the sits bone) and also in the coccyx when sitting for prolonged periods of time. Sometimes it's almost immediately when I sit down.

I never had this problem until I had a really bad bout of CPPS last Christmas and I immediately started ...

I don't get pain in the side of the buttock, it's more in the sits bone and only on the left side. Also my tail bone gets excruciatingly painful at times and is very tender to touch when sitting for long periods. What you describe sounds like Trochanteric bursitis, based on what I've read on ...

Re: Ganglion Impar Block

What type of pain does the hip bursitis cause?

The reason I ask is because for the last 10 months I get unbearable pain in my left buttock and tail bone when sitting. I can run/exercise ok and standing is fine, only when I sit do I get the pain. Could this be the same thing? I was thinking it's ...

Re: Hi there - update

The only thing I do regularly to treat my symptoms is constantly sit on a donut cushion. For me, this is a must, along with avoiding constipation.

I tried a donut cushion and it didn't really work for me, but avoiding constipation definitely helps me. I try to stick to a high fibre, low fat ...

Re: Ganglion Impar Block

I'm the one who has had now two ganglion impar nerve blocks. Both brought a significant reduction in symptoms (pain). I am considering a ganglion impar ablation at this point for a longer lasting effect

So I take it the effects of the nerve block are temporary and the pain comes back? Does it ...
